There are two parts to this project - the first is the Edinburgh Sculptor Workshop which was awarded a lottery grant back in 2003 and the second phase is the Creative Labs, which was won in a City-wide competition held in 2010.
Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop represents the first purpose-built project of its kind in the UK. The new building consists of 30 artist studios, large workshops for wood, metal, plaster and mixed media, a new Education room and Project space, administrative accommodation and apartments for visiting lecturers and sculptors.

The Creative Labs extended the brief by introducing a large outdoor courtyard for sculptors to make very large pieces, together with flexible studios and a public cafe to encourage greater interaction with the wider area.
