The NESTA iDiscover workshops, targeted young people aged between 14 and 17 aimed to motivate individual expression, stimulate interaction and enhance social skills and provide experiential learning of design and manufacturing through the making of individualised designs using a mix of materials and basic electronics. The workshops took the form of a one-day events for 12-15 participants, with two facilitators, to ensure high facilitator-to-participant ratio, depending on the booked attendance.
Participating in the workshops supported the following outcomes: enhanced social skills, familiarity with design and manufacture, self-confidence and an ability to work in a team as well as individually.
