Abstract: | This essay is intended as a provocative dramatization of the researcher by creative practice 'becoming aware' of his/her agency in the process of inquiry. It maintains that the agency of the researcher who employs the methods of creative practice is of central importance to the efficacy of the outputs and not something which needs to be suppressed. The question raised implicitly might be this: 'How do we recuperate this agency into our reflection on the outcome of research by creative practice for the purposes of critical evaluation (RAE) and, of course, assessment (Degree Awards)?' The spatial model within the essay proposes that the researcher by creative practice inhabits a productive 'enacting limbo' between the objects of inquiry and the critical reflection on that inquiry. This limbo is rendered productive when the creative researcher somehow sees their being within the structures of the research. | ||||
