Abstract: | A three-person exhibition of artists currently working with wood grain within contemporary painting practices. The work I made for the exhibition explored tropes and stigmas of western masculinity in relation to materiality, social media, parenthood and nurture, to explore and question how contemporary art practices can employ traditional craft materials and processes to explore identity. The exhibition was accompanied with a text by Conor Kelly on the movements of the great spruce bark beetle (dendroctonus micans). | ||||
