This is the finding report for the GSA Rural Lab’s Crafting Innovation workshop. Local, regional, and national stakeholders came together for an design innovation session focused on collaborative strategic design in the Moray region. As part of GSA Rural Lab’s broader work within Scotland’s Creative Industries, the workshop explored place-led challenges through multiple perspectives, including creative, community, industry, and enterprise voices. Participants tackled two industry-set challenges, applying the novel concept of Craft as “innovation with care”, emerging from the Craft Scaler research. Insights from the workshop informed the creation of a symbolic strategic quilt, representing a wrap-around strategy and reinforcing the role of Craft in driving meaningful, care-driven innovation.
