Karen Roulstone is Head of Painting and Printmaking at Glasgow School of Art. Her research interests centre around contemporary painting; the expanded field of painting; the expanded field of drawing; video painting; concepts of absence; spectrality, indeterminacy and Eastern Philosophy.
She has exhibited in Europe, UK, Asia and North America having been based in Toronto for over 15 years. She has carried out extended research residencies in Berlin, Germany and Gothenberg, Sweden.
