Abstract:

The Stoddard Templeton companies were Scotland’s most prominent carpet manufacturing innovators. They designed and supplied many iconic carpets, including for Glasgow Cathedral, the White House, the Titanic and Queen Mary liners and for events such as the Royal Coronations and Festival of Britain. This public lecture available on vimeo by Helena Britt and Duncan Chappell provided insights into the Interwoven Connections project, the Stoddard Design Library and the prestigious Stoddard Templeton carpet manufacturers. This public lecture marked the ending of the Interwoven Connections Exhibition, Mackintosh Museum, The Glasgow School of Art.
