Abstract:

This enterprise and employability toolkit for creative entrepreneurs was developed for NESTA (National Endowment for Science Technology and the Arts), a UK independent charity that nurtures and supports innovation. A design thinking approach was used in the early research stage to inform the content and format of the final product. The product is provides guidance, worksheets, activities and case studies to help creative individuals looking to set up in businesses. It’s impact has been significant: the publication is now in its second edition (2011) and remains one of NESTA’s most downloaded products; is the first NESTA product to be commercialised and made available via Amazon; and has been translated into Chinese, Greek, Russian and Portuguese.
