I contributed to this review of typographic sketchbooks of the world's leading designers. My contribution draws from over 20 years of typographic sketchbooks as part of my on going practice in Communication Design. Other designers featured include Javier Mariscal,Erik Spiekermann, Gary Panter, Milton Glaser, Maira Kalman, and Jeffrey Keedy.

Steven Heller is the leading design writer and is internationally acclaimed for his numerous publications on design issues. He also writes for publications such as Eye, Communication Arts, Print and Creative Review. He was previously the Art Director for The New York Times Book Review. He is the author or editor of over 100 books on design and popular culture. He is co-chair, with Lita Talarico, of the MFA Designer as Author Department at the School of Visual Arts, New York.
