Abstract:

As part of the Brutal Glasgow exhibition, this text analyses the relationship of Keppie, Henderson and Partners' 1979 The Bourdon Building as a brutalist work in relation to Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s main Glasgow School of Art building which sits opposite on Scott Street. Brutal Glasgow takes drawings of several brutalist Glasgow buildings by artist Natalie Tweedie alongside texts and audio recordings regarding those buildings. Curated by Rachel Loughran at Glasgow City Heritage Trust.
