Abstract:

This paper focuses on Wageningen University’s and Utrecht School of the Arts’ design intervention which attempts to disrupt the sanitised visual culture of the Capitalocene by rendering visible some of the current industrial farming practices. I explore to what extent Pig Chase (2009-2012) has the potential to expose and work against the lack of representation of farm animals and industrialised animal farming in Western collective imaginations.
