The article draws on the data collected from more than 80 people and describes the relevance of local high streets in Edinburgh for an ageing "in place" population. It critically assess some of the accessibility issues encountered by participants and problematise the alignment of the Scottish policy context from the Government Town Centres Action Plan to local development plans land use policies and business improvements to deliver more age friendly environments.
