Abstract: | This was a presentation of the research project I carried out during my stay as a visiting researcher at the German Historical Institute in Warsaw. I presented postmodernism in Poland during the 1980s as architecture of transformation, with a transformative potential, used in a particular context. Its genesis was connected rise in individual agency – of individuals trying out and using the cracks in the system, finding “room for manoeuvre in state socialism” and thus eventually undermining the system through alternative practice. |
