Abstract:

GIO brought one of the world's foremost improvising singers, Phil Minton to collaborate in the creation of a unique incarnation of his joyous and jubilant feral choir. GIO's Emma Roche and Dr Mauro Dragone from the Edinburgh Centre for Robotics premiered a thrilling new composition where the orchestra's physical journeys through the real world combine with their musical journeys through an imagined one. Una MacGlone curated a new piece addressing the concepts of democracy and inclusion that challenges conventional notions of creativity with intricate and playful improvisations.
