This contribution to the Doctoral Consortium of the Participatory Design Conference describes my PhD research project which is taking place at the convergence of design and management. It is interested in how participatory design can take part, inform and whether there is a place for it in current debates around the convergence of managing and designing (Dumas & Mintzberg 1989; Junginger 2003; Boland & Collopy 2004; Richard Buchanan 2004; Suchman 2004).
