Abstract: | The publication looks at the core messages from the original work undertaken as part of the Research-Teaching Linkages Enhancement Theme and acknowledges their relevance. However it notes some limitations and accordingly introduces and discusses three additional strands to the Research-Teaching Linkages Enhancement Theme: 1) flexible provision, coherence and progression; 2) opportunities for building research-mindedness through civic engagement; and 3) the changing nature of the research environment – in particular the need for interdisciplinary responses to some issues and the impact of new technologies. |
